Literary review “Due parole in riva al mare”
San Lorenzo al Mare (IM). After the great success and exceptional public response of the last edition, the collaboration between the literary festival “Due parole in riva al mare”, the Hotel Riviera dei Fiori and the Marina di San Lorenzo al Mare returns again this summer, confirming itself as one of the most evocative and appreciated settings of the entire review.
For its fifteenth edition, the festival – organized by the Cultural Association Due parole in riva al mare, under the artistic direction and presidency of the bookseller Nadia Schiavini and the patronage of the Regione Liguria – renews the appointment with three evenings dedicated to great contemporary fiction, scheduled in the splendid setting of the tourist port of San Lorenzo al Mare.
The 2025 edition won over the public with an original and fascinating formula, which saw the authors converse on board an elegant trimaran moored in the port. An experience that successfully combined the pleasure of reading with the charm of the sea, contributing to making the relationship between writers and their readers even more special.
This year too, the review renews its vocation to create a union between culture, hospitality and territory thanks to the collaboration of the Hotel Riviera dei Fiori, sponsor of the event and the property that will welcome the authors during their stay in Liguria. Overlooking the bay of San Lorenzo al Mare directly and integrated into the suggestive context of the Marina, the elegant four-star hotel of the Riviera dei Fiori Hotels Group represents a landmark of hospitality in the Riviera di Ponente. A partnership that, after the success of the past edition, is further consolidated, confirming the property's commitment to promoting cultural initiatives capable of enhancing the territory and enriching the tourism offering of the Riviera.
The main novelty of this edition, however, will be the new stage set up in the area in front of the hotel on the quay of the Marina di San Lorenzo al Mare, which will take the place of the trimaran, offering an elegant and even more engaging setting for the public. The creation of the scenic space is made possible thanks to the support of D-Marin, an international reference reality in the management of premium marinas in the Mediterranean.
Founded in 2003 and based in Athens, D-Marin is the international selection of premium marinas, managing 28 marinas in nine nations, including Italy, Greece, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and various destinations in the Mediterranean. The company offers over 14,000 berths and welcomes more than 50,000 clients every year, with a focus on the superyacht world, supported by specialized infrastructures and professional shipyards. In 2023, D-Marin expanded its offering with ten new marinas and entry into new markets such as Italy, Spain, Malta and Albania, confirming its rapid growth and long-term vision.
Always oriented towards the enhancement of the destinations in which it operates, the company supports initiatives that strengthen the link between marinas and the territory, helping to transform port spaces into places of meeting, sociality and culture. The support for “Due parole in riva al mare” fits perfectly into this vision, making the Marina di San Lorenzo not only a landing place for yachting, but also a stage open to books and dialogue with the protagonists of contemporary fiction.
The public will be able to attend the meetings free of charge from the Marina quay, enjoying an intimate and evocative atmosphere, with the sea as a backdrop to conversations with some of the most appreciated authors on the Italian publishing scene.

Opening the series of appointments on Thursday 16 July, at 9 pm, will be Francesca Giannone, one of the most beloved Italian writers of recent years, winner of the 2023 Premio Bancarella with the literary phenomenon La portalettere, who will present her new novel Gli anni in bianco e nero (Nord). An intense and emotionally rich story that confirms the author's ability to weave together family events and great History. The evening will be enriched by the special collaboration of the students of the Liceo Classico “Vieusseux” of Imperia and by readings by Lucia Caponetto, actress-reader, who will guide the public on a journey through the pages of the book.

The second appointment, scheduled for Thursday 23 July, will star Erica Cassano with Duramadre (Garzanti), an intense and engaging novel that addresses the themes of origins, identity and family bonds with powerful and refined writing. The author will be in conversation with writer Raffaella Ranise. The meeting will be enriched by theatrical readings curated by the Teatro dell’Albero.

Closing the cycle of meetings at the Hotel Riviera dei Fiori in the Marina di San Lorenzo will be, on Wednesday 12 August, Matteo Bussola, one of the most sensitive voices in contemporary Italian fiction. During the evening, he will present Il sole nelle pozzanghere (Einaudi), in conversation with bookseller Nadia Schiavini in a meeting dedicated to feelings, relationships and the extraordinary ability of literature to recount everyday life with authenticity and gentleness.
With this renewed collaboration between the festival, the Hotel Riviera dei Fiori and D-Marin, “Due parole in riva al mare” once again confirms its vocation to enhance the territory through culture, offering residents and tourists an experience capable of combining the pleasure of reading, the beauty of the sea and the excellence of hospitality in one of the most fascinating locations on the Ligurian Riviera.
