From velocipede to racing bike

From 1st May to 5th June at Forte Santa Tecla in Sanremo there will be an exhibition that tells the evolution of the bicycle through models from different eras.

From the first "velocipede" models at the end of the 19th century (with large front wheels), through the first "bicycles" with wheels of equal size and chain, to the first racing bicycles designed for the great classics. And finally, the bicycles designed to break 'records': like one of the models used by the great Francesco Moser to achieve the hour record in Stuttgart in 1988.

The specimens on display come from one of the most interesting collections of velocipedes and bicycles in Europe, owned by the Cozzi Parodi family, enriched by a specimen from the Bartali Museum that belonged to the great Tuscan champion.

The fort of Santa tecla where the bicycles can be viewed is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10.30 - 13.00 and 15.30 - 18.00.
